Dorothy Levell, 80, of Versailles passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born near Shelbyville on February 21, 1935 the daughter of Charles and Anna Stafford Bartlett. She was married to Edward Levell on November 25, 1952 and he preceded her in death on December 9, 2006. Survivors include four sons Kelly (Lorna) Levell and Bradley Levell both of Batesville, Jeff Levell of Versailles, and Duane (Jamie) Levell of Dillsboro; one daughter Denise (Warren) Bates of Versailles; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son Edward Marshel Lovell II, and 12 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Levell was a homemaker and a former member and president of the Napoleon VFW. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and had been a long-time collector of salt and pepper shakers. Dorothy's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11am at the Flat Rock Baptist Church near Osgood with Ray West officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10am. Memorials may be given to the Flat Rock Baptist Church or cemetery in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles.
