Dwayne D. Mcneelan

Dwayne D. McNeelan, 65, of Holton passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011 at his home. He was born at Batesville on June 7, 1946 the son of Martin and Laura Richardson McNeelan. He was married to Janie LaFollette on June 17, 1966 and she preceded him in death on April 11, 1997. Survivors include one son Scott (Misty) McNeelan of Holton; three daughters Tammy Buell, Melissa Grigsby, and Melanie (Bill) Fields all of Holton; 9 grandchildren; one sister Alice (Ronald) Rayburn of Holton; two brothers Martin (Beverly) McNeelan, Jr. of Whiteland and Jim (Carolyn) McNeelan of Holton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Derrick Buell. Mr. McNeelan was a 1965 graduate of Holton High School and had attended the Holton United Methodist Church. He worked in production at Seagrams for 35 years retiring in 1998. Dwayne was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 14 at 11am at the Holton United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob McCreary of the Holton Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery with military honors by the Versailles American Legion. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Holton United Methodist Church or the Holton Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
