Earl S. Strimple

Earl S. Strimple, 93, of Versailles passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009 at St. Andrews in Batesville. He was born at Versailles on December 20, 1915 the son of Charles P. and Shirley Sheldon Strimple. He was married to Ruby Hammond on January 9, 1937 and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters Sue (Terry) Boiman of Lakeside Park, Kentucky and Connie (Gary) Banks of Inverness, Florida; three grandchildren, Emily (Chris) Jahr of Gainesville, Florida, Zachary Banks of Inverness, Florida, and Ben Boiman of Lakeside Park, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wilfred Strimple and his sister Dorthea Pfautz. Mr. Strimple was a 1934 graduate of Versailles High School. He was a 37 year employee of the B & O Railroad where he worked as a track inspector, retiring in 1979. He and his wife had owned and operated the 421 Motel in Versailles for 21 years. He was a member of the Tyson United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. James Byerly of the Tyson United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Greendale Cemetery at Osgood. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Tyson United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
