Rev. Earl Wren

Rev. Earl Wren, 76, of Versailles passed away Wednesday December 25 at the Veterans Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born at Berea, Kentucky on January 1, 1926, the son of Walter and Maggie Fields Wren, both deceased. He was married to Lorna Boyd and she survives. Other survivors include his sons Ronald Wren of Cincinnati, John Wren and his wife Sandy of Quincy, Illinois, and David Wren of Savannah, Georgia; daughters Debbie Taylor of Savannah, and Cindy Holcomb and her husband Rich of Terre Haute; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; one brother Alvin Wren of Lookout. He was preceded in death by seven sisters and one brother. Mr. Wren was a retired minister having served in various churches and positions. He was an army veteran of WW II, and was a retired pipe fitter having worked out of local 335 at Peoria, Illinois. He was a member of the Napoleon VFW and the Versailles American Legion who will perform military graveside rites. Funeral services will be held Saturday December 28 at 1 pm at the Stratton Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. David Blazier officiating. Burial will be in the Mud Pike Cemetery near Osgood. Visitation will be Saturday from 10am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
