Edgar Narwold

June 16, 1922 — December 9, 2003

Edgar Narwold, 81, of Napoleon, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was born near Napoleon on June 16, 1922 the son of Henry and Carrie Busch Narwold. He was married to Ruth Luers on November 28, 1953 and she survives. Other survivors include one son, David Narwold and his wife Pam of Napoleon, grandsons Curt Narwold and his wife Megan of Davenport, Iowa and Steve Narwold of Napoleon; also his cousin, Norma Kessens Roberts of Batesville. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Betty Narwold Toops. Mr. Narwold was a farmer and had lived his entire life in the Napoleon area. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Napoleon, was a gold badge member of the Napoleon Fire Department, and was a Jackson Township board member of the Ripley County Farm Bureau. He had also served as a 4-H leader for the Junior Farmers of Finks for 26 years. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 12 at 11am at the St. John Lutheran Church in Napoleon with Rev. Gary Groth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 11 from 4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Jac-Cen-Del High School Athletic Department, Napoleon Fire Department, or the St. John Lutheran Church.
