Edna A. Burman, 91, of Cross Plains passed away Saturday October 5 at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour. She was born at Farmers Retreat on April 1, 1911 the daughter of Harry and Paulina Steingruber Thomas. She was married to Wilbur Burman on October 6, 1929 and he preceded her in death on November 29, 1980. Mrs. Burman was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Dewberry. She was a housewife and for several years operated the Friendship Lunch Room in Friendship. She is survived by two daughters; Mrs LaVonna Holtman and her husband Ralph of Seymour and Glendora Meier and her husband Fred of Cross Plains; daughter-in-law Dorothy Burman of Friendship; Grandchildren Sandra Zacc_gnini of Orlando, Florida, Rick Thomas of Windermere, Florida, Carl Holtman and Mark Holtman both of Seymour, and Bill Burman of Brookville; three step grandchildren Janice Core and Bonnie Jeffries of Dillsboro, and Eric Laker of Friendship, and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Gerald Burman and her sisters Clara Oatman, Opal Grelle, and Leona Thomas. Visitation will be Tuesday October 8 from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton- Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Funeral services will be Wednesday October 9 at 11 am at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dewberry with Pastor Ottis Sauls and Pastor Donald Sauls officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Garage Fund, The Lutheran Hour, or the Lutheran Community Home.
