Edward Lee Jolly, 71, of Versailles passed away Sunday at the Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born at Benham on February 7, 1932, the son of Thomas Edward and Lela Whitton Jolly. He was married to Hope Marie Melton on October 26, 1985 and she survives. Other survivors include five daughters; Lisa Sanders and her husband Dennis of Versailles, Linda Pettit and her husband Ervin of Moores Hill, Cindy Cushing of Cleves, Pam Bressert and her husband Randy of Versailles, and Brenda Vaughn and her husband Greg of Seymour; three sons Rick Jolly of Hyden, Kentucky, Charles Jolly and his wife Veronica of Moorefield, and Mark McClure of Shelbyville; 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; one sister Mabel Hyatt of Madison and his sister-in-law Kathy Hoffman of Cross Plains. He was preceded in death by his parents, his half-brothers Howard and Kirby Jolly, his son Donald and his daughter Vicky Lynn Jolly. Mr. Jolly was retired from Monsanto and was a 1950 graduate of Cross Plains High School. He was an Army veteran of Korea. Mr. Jolly attended the Cross Plains Church of Christ where he was baptized on September 14, 2000. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 19 at 11am at the Cross Plains Church of Christ with Brother Logan Fugate officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery near Cross Plains with military rites by the Versailles American Legion. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 18 from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Salem Cemetery or the Cross Plains Church of Christ School.
