Edward L. Kluemper, 80, of Napoleon passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at his home. He was born near Yorkville in Dearborn County on December 24, 1928 the son of Clarence and Bertha Ficther Kluemper. He was married to Jeanette Hardebeck on June 25, 1949 and she preceded him in death on March 15, 2005. Survivors include three daughters Carlotta (Jerald) Gunter of Batesville, Janet (Harley) Orr of Napoleon, and Patricia Ann (Brady) Ferguson of Indianapolis; 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; one sister Mary Kluemper of Osgood. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Melinda Cook, and one sister. Mr. Kluemper was a 1947 graduate of Batesville High School. He had been employed with Roman Nobbe in Batesville and had operated heavy equipment for Bruns-Gutzwiller in Batesville. After retiring he was employed with the sporting goods department at the Greensburg Wal-Mart. He was a member of the St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 10 at 10am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Father Rob Hankee officiating. Burial will be in the St. Maurice Cemetery at Napoleon. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 7pm. Memorials may be given to the St. Maurice Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
