Elaine Schroder Diem

Elaine Schroder Diem, 76, of Osgood passed away Thursday November 28 at 12:20 pm at the Community HospitalNorth in Indianapolis. She was born in Indianapolis on April 7, 1926 the daughter of Irving H. and Kathleen Palmer Schroder. She was married to Norman Diem on December 21, 1946 and he survives. Other survivors include one son, Ronald W. Diem and his wife Mary of Lafayette; one daughter, Jacqueline E. Layton and her husband Charles of Noblesville; grandson Robert Pipes and his wife Sara of Rochelle, Illinois, and a great-grandson Austin Hanson. Mrs. Diem along with her husband owned and operated Osgood Frozen Foods for 23 years retiring in 1987. She was also a homemaker and gave piano lessons in her home for several years. She was a member of the Osgood United Methodist Church, a past member of Delta Rho Tri-Kappa, a past member of the Osgood chapter of the Eastern Star, and a 1944 graduate of Osgood High School. Funeral services will be Monday, December 2nd at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Charles Flory officiating. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery at Fink's Corner near Osgood. Calling will be Sunday December 1st from 3pm to 7pm in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donors choice.
