Eleanor (Ellie) Irvin

Eleanor (Ellie) Irvin, 87, of Holton passed away at 10:21pm, Friday, February 18, 2022 at the St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. She was born in Speedway, Indiana on September 19, 1934 the daughter of Walter and Mary Funkhouser Knittel. She was married to Dale Irvin on June 21, 1969 and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2020. Mrs. Irvin had retired from Reliance Medical Products (F&F Koenigkramer Co.) and was a former employee of the Sam's Technical Institute. Ellie attended the New Marion Baptist Church and played the piano for over 20 years. She also was a member of the Versailles American Legion Auxiliary, sang with the Golden Gate Community Choir and enjoyed playing the piano for Buckeye Village and Manderley. Ellie spent the last 10 months at St. Andrews with wonderful care from the staff and her many visiting friends. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 2pm at the New Marion Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to the church in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
