Elfrieda Smith

Elfrieda Smith, 80, of Cross Plains passed away Friday January 17, 2003 at the Dillsboro Manor. She was born near Cross Plains on January 2, 1923, the daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth Klusman Meier. She was married to Alfred Smith on September 6, 1946 and he preceded her in death on August 5, 1986. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dewberry. Survivors include two sons; William Smith of Versailles, and Kenneth Smith of Lafayette; 3 granddaughters; one brother Elmer Meier of Cross Plains. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Hilda Meier. Funeral services will be Monday January 20 at 11am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dewberry with Pastor Donald Sauls officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Calling will be Sunday January 19 from 3pm to 6pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and also from 10am until time of services at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Cemetery.
