Elizabeth Danner, 92, of Alexandria, Kentucky, formerly of Versailles, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the home of her niece. She was born at Alexandria on April 8, 1916 the daughter of Andy and Anna Hess Trapp. She was married to Claude Maggard in 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1972. She was married to Robert Danner in 1974 and he preceded her in death in 1987. Survivors include one nephew Tom Trapp and one niece Brenda Trapp-Johnson both of Alexandria along with several great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother Henry Trapp.
Mrs. Danner was a 1935 graduate of Campbell County High School where she was valedictorian of her senior class and was a 1941 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. She began her school teaching career in Kentucky in 1937 and retired at Versailles in 1980. She taught at Campbell County, Williamsburg, Ohio, Jacksonburg, Ohio, and locally at New Marion and Versailles. She was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church, Ripley County Retired Teachers, Campbell County Teachers Association, and the Northern Kentucky Teachers Association.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 7 at 12pm at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Don Humphrey officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery at Versailles. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11am until time of services at the church. Memorials may be given to the Versailles Baptist Church in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home.
