Ella Ruth Evans

Ella Ruth Evans, 88, of Osgood, formerly of Benham passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born at Friendship on May 7, 1918 the daughter of Marion and Lula Gray Moody. She was married to Ralph Evans on February 27, 1936 and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1992. Survivors include two sons, Dale Keith Evans and his wife Glenda of Versailles and Daniel Evans and his wife Robbie of Osgood; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roscoe Moody of Effingham, Illinois and Ray Moody of Milan. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Ralph Moody. Mrs. Evans was a homemaker and a member of the Shelby Christian Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, September at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Minister Randy Thieman of the Shelby Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Benham Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the Benham Cemetery or the hospice of Jennings County.
