Ella (Dopey) West

Ella (Dopey) West, 77, of Friendship passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born near Olean on September 15, 1928 the daughter of William and Lucy Lomatsch Otte. She was married to Raymond West on September 20, 1952 and he preceded her in death on April 5, 2002. Survivors include one son Doug West and his wife Regina of Versailles; one daughter Joan Rohrig and her husband Carroll of Milan; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Werner of Greenfield and Dorothy Huntington and her husband Larry of Friendship. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. West was a 1947 graduate of Cross Plains High School. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Olean where she also had taught Sunday School. She enjoyed her family and traveling. Funeral services will be Friday, December 1 at 11am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Olean with Pastor Marcus Felde officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Friday at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Friendship Fire Department, or the donor's choice.
