Ellanora Odetta Burton

**Ellanora Odetta Burton**, 71, of Osgood passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. She was born near Holton on October 6, 1941 the daughter of Walter and Rhoda Morris Franklin. She was married to Jerry D. Burton on June 26, 1959 and he survives. Other survivors include two sons Jerry E. (Connie) Burton of Monticello and Ricky Lee (Rocio) Burton of Lawton, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren; one sister Edythe Hollandsworth of North Vernon; three brothers Lloyd (Luella) Franklin, Lowell (Kay) Franklin, and Duane (Carole) Franklin all of Holton. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son Jeff Burton. Mrs. Burton was a 1959 graduate of Holton High School and was a member of the Osgood First Baptist Church. She was a former employee of US Shoe in Osgood and retired in 2002 after 36 years with Kennedy Car Liner in Shelbyville. Odetta enjoyed quilting, working with her flowers, and fishing. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23 at 11am at the Osgood First Baptist Church with Rev. Don Buck officiating. Burial will be in the Greendale Cemetery in Osgood. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Osgood First Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
