Elmer Meier

Elmer Meier, 84, of Dewberry passed away Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Dillsboro Manor. He was born at Dewberry in Brown Township near Cross Plains on August 21, 1924 the son of Ernest and Elizabeth Klusman Meier. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Hilda Meier and Elfreida Smith. Mr. Meier was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dewberry and was a long time employee of the Ripley County Farm Bureau where worked at the Cross Plains branch. He was a retired farmer and had spent his entire life in the Dewberry and Cross Plains communities. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 14 10:30am at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dewberry with Pastor Ralph Canpen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 9:30am until time of services Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be given to the church in care of the funeral home.
