Elva Delay Little, 105, of Versailles passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at Ripley Crossing Health Care in Milan. She was born in Rexville on February 1, 1907 the daughter of Luther and Lizzie Lane Delay. She was married to Delbert Little on February 1, 1936 at the Ninth Street Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1975. Survivors include one son David (Joan) of Bakersfield, California; two daughters Patricia Anne (Terry) Smith of Pataskola, Ohio and Martha (Loren) Pohle of Aurora, Indiana; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Gladys Marsh and Clara Morrell, and her brother Loyd Delay. Mrs. Little was a 1925 graduate of Versailles High School and was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and cooking. Elva was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school until she was 90 and was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 18 at 11am at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in the Tanglewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Tuesday at the church. The Eastern Star will conduct services Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Versailles Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
