Emily Marie Huntington, 18, of Osgood passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 near Osgood as the result of a single car accident. She was born at Lawrenceburg on October 6, 1993. Survivors include her father Leonard Huntington of Osgood; her mother and step-father Jodi and Jason Comer of Osgood; brothers Luke, Ty, and Beckham Comer; paternal grandparents George and Barbara Huntington of Osgood; maternal grandparents Pat Graves of Versailles, Neil and Marilyn Comer of Osgood, and Steve and Marlene Hedrick of Batesville; maternal great-grandmothers Edith Comer of Osgood and Zuella McNew of Holton; Aunts and Uncles Stephen and Trish Huntington of Osgood, Travis and Pam Draper of Aurora, Karl and Jenny Mockler of Avon, Brian and Molly Steele of Carmel, Julie Comer of Phoenix, and Eric and Katie Sheets, Shawn and Kara Hieser, and Brian and Anna Lane all of Indianapolis, along with several cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Hank Graves. Emily was a senior at Jac-Cen-Del where she was a member of the Lady Eagles basketball team, golf team, and dance. She was also a member of the Jac-Cen-Del chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the National Honor Society. Emily, as a member of the Sunshine Society was chosen Miss Sunshine for 2011 and had the honor of representing Jac-Cen-Del in the Aurora Farmer's Fair queen contest. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood, was currently employed with Subway in Versailles, and also volunteered at the Ripley County Humane Society. Emily's plans were to attend Indiana University in the fall of 2012 and major in graphic design. She enjoyed her horses, playing her guitar, singing, and most of all baking "scrumptious" desserts. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3 at 2pm at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. David Shivers officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be on Monday from 3pm to 8pm also at the Hopewell Baptist Church. Memorials may be given to the Ripley County Humane Society in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home.
