Ethel R. Dunbar

Ethel R. Dunbar, 99, of Osgood passed away Sunday, October 10, 2004 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born near Delaware in Delaware Township on February 28, 1905, the daughter of Charles and Carrie Parsons Knowlton. She was married to Ralph Dunbar on June 19, 1926 and he preceded her in death on February 14, 1998. Mrs. Dunbar is survived by her son Donald Dunbar and his wife Shirley of Osgood; granddaughters Brenda Strimple and her husband Rex of Holton, Debbie Hardy and Paul of Osgood, and Lucinda Fromer and Roger of Batesville along with six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Downey and her husband Bill of Osgood. Mrs. Dunbar, along with her husband, were co-owners of the Dunbar & Bultman milk plant and restaurant in Osgood from 1939 to 1978. She was a 1923 graduate of Osgood High School and was a member of the Osgood United Methodist Church and the Osgood-Versailles chapter of the Eastern Star. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 14 at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Dale Day officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 13 from 5pm to 8pm. Burial will be in the Mud Pike Cemetery near Osgood. Memorials may be given to the cemetery in care of the funeral home.
