Eva June Hansen, 87, of Versailles passed away Friday, February 20, 2004 at the Waters of Ross Manor in Dillsboro. She was born near Holton on June 14, 1916 the daughter of Elbridge and Erma Pratt Hammon. She was married to Harlan Michael on July 3, 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1962. She was then married to John Hansen on June 14, 1975 and he preceded her in death on December 30, 1980. Mrs. Hansen was a homemaker, a member of the Versailles Baptist Church and the Riley Cheer Guild. She was a seamstress and a 1935 graduate of Holton High School.
Survivors include three sons, William Michael of Madesto, California, John Michael of Los Angeles, and Dr. Fred Michael of Charleston, South Carolina; two daughters, Virginia Holmgren of Lake Placid, Florida and Nancy Michael of Batesville; eight grandchildren; two brothers, John Hammon of Cincinnati and Frank Hammon of Missouri; two sisters, Lucille Schlotman of Versailles and Dorothy Kimball of Holton. She was also preceded in death by her son Thomas Michael, her parents, her brothers Rufus Hammon and Norman Hammon and her sisters Maybeth DeBurger and Blanche Ross.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 24 at 11am at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Walker officiating. Visitation will be Monday, February 23 from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Graveside services will be held at 12pm Wednesday, February 25 at the Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka, Indiana. Memorials may be given to the church or the Riley Cheer Guild.
