Fleeta Bell Smith

Fleeta Bell Smith, 77, of Versailles passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at her home. She was born near Vevay on August 4, 1936 the daughter of Leroy and Bernice Thornton Phillips. Survivors include one daughter Jodie Grossman of Versailles; two sons Tim Peters of Madison, and Duane Sizemore and companion Peggy Murray of Napoleon; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Lee Phillips. Mrs. Smith was a former employee of the Tyson Library in Versailles, Ripley Publishing, and retired from US Shoe in Osgood. Fleeta was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 18 at 10:30am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Barringer officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery at Cross Plains. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the Hopewell Baptist ABY in care of the funeral home.
