Flossie M. Hacker, 86, of Versailles passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Florence Park Care Center in Florence, Kentucky. She was born at McHenry, Kentucky on April 10, 1926 the daughter of Walter and Bessie Gray Forbes. She was married to Dewey Hacker on July 18, 1945 and he preceded her in death on June 2, 1966.
Survivors include two daughters Doris (Ken) Schlueter of Inverness, Florida and Janice (Robert) Rutherford of Osgood; five grandchildren Deanna (John) Bays, Lorie (Angel Hernandez) Burress, Kim Simmons, Aaron Burress, and Matthew Burress; five great-grandchildren Jonathon, Jessica, Patty, Robert, and Joey; two sisters and one brother. Mrs. Hacker was a former employee of Vines Poultry in Osgood. She enjoyed planting flowers and loved to show them off for the crowds in Versailles for the Pumpkin Show. In her later years she had to move to Florence, but Versailles was always home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 5 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Don Buck of the Osgood First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
