Former Ripley County Resident Scott C. Mcneelan

Former Ripley County resident Scott C. McNeelan, 52, of Indianapolis passed away Sunday, May 13, 2024 at his home. He was born in Batesville on March 1, 1972, the son of Dwayne and Janie LaFollette McNeelan. He was married to his current wife Stacy Budd on October 17, 2013 and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Brittany McNeelan of Greensburg; two sons, Scott McNeelan II and Damian McNeelan both of Greensburg; his first wife and mother of his children, Misty McNeelan Nugent of Greensburg; grandchildren Hayden McNeelan, Stevie-Mae McNeelan, and Jacob and Jonah McLean; three step-sons Stephen, Joseph, and Nicholas Rannazzisi all of Westfield; three sisters Tammy Buell of Milton, Kentucky, and Melissa Grigsby and Melanie Fields both of Holton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Derrick Buell. Mr. McNeelan attended South Ripley High School with the class of 1990. He received his Associates Degree in business administration from Florida University and LPN certification from Med-Tech College in Greenwood. Scott was a devoted father, grandfather, husband, and community servant. He had worked as an over the road truck driver, was a former 10 year member of the Indiana Carpenters Union, and had worked as a nursing home administrator for many years. He enjoyed his last years at his farm in Springville, Indiana where he worked the land, the stock market, and did wood-working, before moving on to his current home. Scott attended the Holton United Methodist Church as a child, was baptized at the Benham United Methodist Church, and was currently a member of the Free Methodist Church at Bedford. He was also a former member of the Holton Fire Department. Scott's wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 18 at 11 a.m. at the Holton United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Visitation will also be at the church on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials will be taken for Scott's grandchildren in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
