Frances L. Wingate

Frances L. Wingate, 79, of Holton passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville. She was born at Osgood on July 26, 1933 the daughter of Wilbur and Audrey Morris Wilson. She was married to William Wingate on March 15, 1952 and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1983. Survivors include one son Tom (Penny) Wingate of North Vernon; five daughters Bonnie (Robert L.) McIntosh of Holton, Katherine (Tony) Martin of Versailles, Rebecca Wingate of Holton, Mary Heidorn of Versailles, and Patty (Brian) Pollitt of Connersville; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one sister Loretta Burton of Versailles; one brother Delbert Wilson of North Vernon. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Bud, Ronnie, and Gary Wilson. Mrs. Wingate was a custodian for the Holton and South Ripley Elementary Schools. She had also operated the Small Sprout Greenhouse in Holton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 10 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Craven Cemetery at Milan. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or the Holton Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
