Garrett R. Goodpaster

Garrett R. Goodpaster, 23, of Versailles passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born at Madison on April 27, 1990 the son of Robert and Denise Adkins Goodpaster. Survivors include his parents; his sister Annie; maternal grandmother Mrs. Jean Adkins of Versailles, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also as part of Garrett's family were his caregivers the late Carolyn Lee, Cindy Stephen, and his cousin Shannon Adkins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Carl and Muriel Goodpaster, and his maternal grandfather Alfred Adkins. He was a 2011 graduate of South Ripley High School and was a member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church. Garrett loved go carts and made many friends and touched many lives in his 23 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 10am at the Tanglewood Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Mullins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 9am until time of services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Tanglewood Baptist Church or Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
