Gene H. Gunter, 57, of North Vernon passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at his home. He was born at Holton, Indiana on April 20, 1952 the son of Charley and Mary Simpson Gunter. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Brewer, three daughters Michele Ross, Regina (Robert) Graham, Joyce (Brian) Jines all of North Vernon, stepdaughters, Terina (Keith) Harold of Nineveh, Sondra (Chris) Rush of Carrollton, KY, Lisa (Anthony) Wilks of Vevay, stepsons, Joshua (Juanita) Lock of Canaan, and Jacob Lock of Paris Crossing, seven grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and one great grandchild, three brothers, Roy (Betty) Gunter of New Marion, Ray (Edie) Gunter of Holton, Willis Gunter of North Vernon, two sisters, Susan Rice of Versailles, and Brenda Sandlin of North Vernon. Mr. Gunter was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Daniel, James and Charles, two sisters, Lonnie Tyler and Linda Hurst. He worked as a machinist for SET Enterprises in North Vernon. He enjoyed fishing, camping and his golf cart. Mr. Gunter loved people and visiting with his friends and family. Funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Holton Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
