Geneva Westmeier

Geneva Westmeier, 80, of Versailles passed away Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the Mercy Mt. Airy Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born in the St. Magdalene community near New Marion on January 18, 1926 the daughter of John and Margaret Kieffer. She was married to Aaron Westmeier on July 12, 1947 and he survives. Other survivors include one son Bill Westmeier and his wife Mary of Versailles; two daughters, Linda Hillman and her husband Terry of Connersville, and Pat Reese and her husband Paul of Milan; six grandchildren and two great-grandsons; two brothers, Arthur Kieffer of New Marion and Walter Kieffer of Versailles. She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Clarissa Westmeier, brothers Paul, David, and Martin Kieffer, and her sister Lucille Colley. Mrs. Kieffer was a member of the St. Magdalene Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers, and her grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 21 at 10am at the St. Magdalene Catholic Church in New Marion with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary services at 7:30pm. Memorials may be given to the St. Magdalene Catholic Church or St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Olean in care of the funeral home.
