Genevieve Pickett

**Genevieve Pickett**, 100, of Lawrenceburg passed away at 10am, Monday, January 31, 2022 at Shady Nook Health Care Center in Lawrenceburg. She was born near New Marion on October 21, 1921, the daughter of Charles and Clara Matz Meierle. She was married to Lowell Pickett on December 11, 1943 and he preceded her in death on December 29, 1996. Survivors include one son Terry Pickett of Ross, California; grandsons Jonathan Pickett of Sassalito, California, and Barton (Alexandra) Pickett of Greenbray, California; one brother Garry (Janet) Meierle of Versailles. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Harold, Irvin, Dalbert, Marcee, and Frances Meierle, and her sisters Ruthe Burske, Mary Gigerich, Margaret Terrican, and Evelyn Meierle. Mrs. Pickett was a 1939 graduate of New Marion High School and was a former resident of North Hills, California. Her working career spanned many years where she was employed with the Lakeworth Trotter Company and she retired from Teledyne Laars where she worked as an administrative assistant to the company president. Genevieve was a member of the St. Magdalene Catholic Church in New Marion. Cremation will be followed by a memorial service at a later date. The Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles is in charge of arrangements.
