**George L. Wahl, Jr.,**
75, of Versailles
passed away at
6:30pm Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Manderley Health Care Center
in Osgood. He
was born in Boise, Idaho on September 30, 1939 the son of George
Sr. and Mary
Ruth Young Wahl. Survivors include one son George (Joyce) Wahl
III of Holton;
one daughter Jenny (Matt) Hansen also of Holton; grandchildren
Lance, Sarah,
and Becky Wahl, and Nikki and Amanda Hansen; great-grandchildren
Aiden Wahl,
Braydon Ritchison, Christopher Jackson, and Damian Wahl; one
brother Jack
(Gloria) Wahl of Hamilton, Ohio; three sisters Donna (Gilbert)
Owens of
Shandon, Ohio, Kathy (James) Hamblin of Hamilton, Ohio, and
Carol (Bill) Klock
of Liberty. He was preceded in death by his parents, his
granddaughter Samantha
Hansen, his brother Larry Wahl, and his sisters Judy Shultz and
Glenna Mae
Wahl. Mr. Wahl was a former employee of American Materials in
Fairfield, Ohio
where he worked as a plant operator. In his spare time George
enjoyed playing
cards and fishing. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday,
June 3
at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles
with Rev. Carter
Corbray of the First Southern Baptist Church in Versailles
officiating. Burial will
be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from
10am until
time of services. Memorials may be given to the Samantha Hansen
Memorial Scholarship
Fund in care of the funeral home.
