Gladys M. Moody, 76, of Milan passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Milan on February 23, 1936 the daughter of Roy and Mildred Rumsey Lattire. Survivors include one daughter Marla Ledbetter of Bloomington; grandchildren Martin Ledbetter of Terre Haute and Shelby Ledbetter of Bloomington; one brother Floyd (Alta) Lattire of Hamilton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Phyllis Haase, and her brother Gerald Lattire. Mrs. Moody was a 1954 graduate of Milan High School and she was currently serving as clerk-treasurer for the town of Milan. She had also owned and operated beauty salons in Milan and Versailles and had served as Ripley County Court Reporter. Gladys was a member of the Milan United Methodist Church, Milan Lions Club and the Eastern Star where she had served as Worthy Matron. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 30 at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles, along with Eastern Star services. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery or the Milan Lions Club in care of the funeral home.
