Glenn E. Swingle,
74, of Versailles
passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011
at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville. He was
born at Batesville on July 2, 1936 the son of Harry and
Viola Barth Swingle. He was married to Nancy Carson
Howard on May 28, 1983 and she survives. Other survivors
include three step-sons Gale (Sandy) Howard and Johnny
Howard both of Versailles, and Branch (Victoria) Howard
of Dayton, Ohio; 7 grandchildren; one brother Arthur
(Partha) Swingle of Versailles. He was preceded in death
by his parents. Mr. Swingle was a 1955 graduate of Cross
Plains High School. He was a self-employed contractor
and had worked as a custodian for the Indiana State
Police Post in Versailles. Glenn was a member of St.
Paul's Lutheran Church in Olean. Funeral services will
be held Monday, January 24
at 11am at St.
Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor James Culver
officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2pm to 5pm at the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials
may be given to St. Paul's church of cemetery in care of
the funeral home.
