**Harold (Tony) Shook,**
79 of Benham
passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Kings Daughters
Hospital in Madison. He was born near Madison on July 23, 1932 the son of Cecil
and Iva Maude Thornton Shook. He was married to Wanda Ferris on March 6, 1961
and she survives. Other survivors include one son Michael (Debbie) Shook of
Milhousen; three daughters Theresa (Kevin) Elza of Versailles, Julie (Robert)
McConnell of Sunman, and Amanda (Ronald) Lawson of Benham; 5 grandchildren, 2
step-grandchildren, and one great-grandson; one brother Beverly Shook of
Butlerville; one sister Roberta Isabel of Bass Lake, California. He was
preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ralph Shook, and his sisters
Marcella McIntosh and Lillian Hankins. Mr. Shook was a 1950 graduate of Cross
Plains High School and served with the US Air Force in Germany and England
during the Korean War. He was a Master Machinist A for 40 years with the Clifty
Creek Power Plant in Madison. He was also a volunteer "bell ringer" at
Christmas for the Salvation Army. Tony was a member of the Benham United
Methodist Church, the Canaan Masonic Lodge, and the Brown Township American
Legion. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14 at 10:30am at the
Benham United Methodist Church with Rev. Howard Bell officiating. Burial will
be in the Benham Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Brown Township
American Legion. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Masonic services at 7:30pm.
Memorials may be given to the Benham United Methodist Church in care of the
funeral home.
