**Hildegard (Hilde) Pollard**, 73, of Versailles, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2005 at her residence. She was born September 3, 1931 in Susan, Germany, the daughter of Gotthilf and Babbette Beuttenmueller, both deceased. She married William 'Bill' Pollard on June 11, 1956 in Speicher, Germany and he survives. Other survivors include three sons, Bill Pollard, Jr., Rick Pollard, Ron Pollard; one daughter, Regina 'Gina' Pollard, all of Versailles; two brothers, Vernon Beuttenmueller and Albert Beuttenmueller of Germany and seven grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Mr. and Mrs. Pollard moved to Versailles in May of 1971 after husband, William retired from the Airforce after 20 years of service. They purchased what was then called the Gayway and renamed it Pollard's Bowl. She ran the youth program at the bowl for 34 years where she was a certified coach. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary of Versailles and charter member of the Moose in Osgood. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, June 28, 4-8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles. The Leora Weare Unit #173 Auxiliary will hold services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 29, 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Brother Randy Thieman officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison. Memorials may be given to the Shelby Christian Church.
