Howard Klusman

August 5, 1926 — June 9, 2004

Howard Klusman, 77, of Versailles passed away Wednesday June 9, 2004 at his residence. He was born in Ohio County on August 5, 1926 the son of Martin and Anna Torwelle Klusman. He was married to Joyce Hampton on June 27, 1953 and she survives. Other survivors include one son Mark Klusman and his wife Ann of Versailles; one grandson Dominick Klusman; one brother Gilbert Klusman of El Paso, Texas; two sisters, Adina Jacobitz of Kennesaw, Nebraska and Velora Pollert of Seymour. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Leroy Klusman. Mr. Klusman was an Army veteran of WWII where he served in the 1st Air Repair and Supply Detachment in the Philippines and Okinawa. He was a farmer and had driven school buses in the Holton, Cross Plains, and South Ripley school districts. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dewberry and the Brown Township American Legion. Mr. Klusman also enjoyed antique tractors. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 12 at 10:30am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Donald Sauls officiating. Burial will be in the St. Pauls Cemetery at Dewberry with military graveside rites by the Brown Township American Legion. Visitation will be Friday, June 11 from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to St. Paul's building fund in care of the funeral home.
