Ida C. Grow, 90, of Napoleon passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at her home. She was born near Napoleon on July 14, 1922 the daughter of George and Pearl Drescher Young. She was married to Arval Grow on June 22, 1942 and he preceded her in death on March 2, 2004. Survivors include one daughter Janet (Tim) Foster of Napoleon; three grandchildren Lisa (Daniel) Horn and Jeff Foster both of Napoleon and Kelly (Tiffany) Foster of Osgood; 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers Sylvester Young and Lester (Betty) Young both of Napoleon and Delbert Young of New Mexico. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Walter, Harry, Roy, Norman, Earl, and Alvin Young, and her sisters Esther Bernard, Sadie Schmidt, and Alice Bultman.
Mrs. Grow was a former employee of the International Furniture Company in Rushville, the Union Furniture Company in Batesville, Hillenbrand Industries in Batesville, and also farmed and operated a trucking business with her husband. Her travels had taken her to England, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, and Holland. Ida was a member of the Napoleon United Methodist Church and the Greensburg VFW Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 18 at 12pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Don Buck of the Osgood First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at Napoleon. Visitation will be from 10am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Napoleon Fire Department or the Napoleon United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
