**Irmina "Irma" Lower, 98, of Versailles** passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky. She was born at Lawrenceburg, Indiana on February 16, 1908 the daughter of John and Mary Barbara Fromholtz Albrecht. She was married to William Lower on February 26, 1927 and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1979. Survivors include one son, Charles Lower and his wife Elizabeth of Fairfield, Ohio; two daughters, Ina Stork and her husband Harold of Burlington, Kentucky, and Carolyn S. Lainhart of Erlanger, Kentucky; daughter-in-law Carol Lower of Franklin, Indiana; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ethel Linkmeyer of Greensburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Carl, and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Lower, along with her husband, owned and operated a Sinclair and also a Phillips 66 station in Versailles from 1950 to 1970. She also worked at the White Pine and Colonial Cottage restaurants in Versailles and was well known throughout the area for her pies. Mrs. Lower retired on her 90th birthday in 1998. She was a life member of the Versailles American Legion Auxiliary and also a member of the Ripley County Historical Society. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8 at 12pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Visitation will be Saturday from 10am until time of services. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
