Iva Johnson

Iva Johnson, 93, of Cross Plains, formerly of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born near Cross Plains on June 16, 1911 the daughter of Tom and Mollie Harrell Elston. She was married to Rufus Johnson and he survives. Other survivors include two sisters, Ruby McMackin of Bennington and Dorothy McMackin of Moorefield; brother-in-law Glenn Edwards of Bennington along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Ollie, Wilkie, Raymond, Clyde, and Freddie Elston. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a member of the Cross Plains Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, October at 10:30am at the Cross Plains Baptist Church with Rev. Troy Dean officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, October 28 from 5pm to 7pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the church in care of the funeral home.
