Jack B. Webb, 89, of Versailles passed away Saturday, October 9, 2004 at the King's Daughters Hospital in Madison. He was born at Columbus, Ohio on June 5, 1915 and was raised in Raver, West Virginia the son of John B. and Josephine McGovern Webb.
He was married to Imon Russell and she preceded him in death on May 27, 1995. Other survivors include one daughter Joretta Grass of Nineveh, one grandson Mark R. Crosby of Loveland, Ohio; one granddaughter, Traci Grass of Franklin, Indiana; four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Alex Crosby, Derek Burton, and Chloe Grass; his half-sister Gladys Carter of Crestview, Florida. Mr. Webb retired from the Jefferson Proving Ground where he was director of range control and had worked with the CCC's.
He was also a member of the Versailles Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 12 at 11:00am at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery at Versailles. Visitation will be Monday, October 11 from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and also from 10am until time of services Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Versailles Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
