James "Pickle" Ellerman, 62, of Versailles passed away Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville. He was born at Milan on March 17, 1946 the son of Estol and Dortha Chance Ellerman. He was married to Beverly Andrew on August 9, 1969 and she survives. Other survivors include his father and mother-in-law George and Belva Andrew of Elrod; nieces Summer (Doug) Acra of Milan, Autumn Cameron of Hanover, Jennifer Mann of Bloomington, Susannah Mann of Versailles, and Jocelyn Eden of Milan; nephews Ricky (Mandy) Andrew of Dillsboro and Derick Cameron of Milan; two great nieces and one great nephew; friends Bill, Bobby, and Janie Browning. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Marie Mann. Mr. Ellerman was a 1964 graduate of Versailles High School and was a member of the Tyson United Methodist Church. He was a 35 year employee of Seagrams and was also a farmer. He was also an accomplished guitarist having played music in the entire tri-state area. Funeral services will be held Monday, December at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Ellerman-Blair Cemetery near Friendship. Visitation will be Sunday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Foundation of America or the South Ripley Classroom Teachers Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
