James (Leon) Holman

James (Leon) Holman, 68, of Versailles passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 at his home. He was born at Springfield, Kentucky on October 6, 1942 the son of Nelson and Katherine Bunch Holman. He was married to Theresa Craig on September 21, 1985 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons Dewey Holman of Madison and Jim (Paula) Holman of Holton; two daughters Kathy (Jeff) Burton of North Vernon and Becky (Kevin) Lee of New Marion; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; one sister Bonnie (Dale) Benham of Osgood. He was preceded in death by his parents. Leon was a former employee of Cord's Stone Quarry, North Vernon Forge, and R. L. Byard and Sons Concrete Finishing. He had spent the last several years as a self-employed concrete finisher. Mr. Holman was a member of the Hope Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 15 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Burial will be in the New Marion Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the New Marion Cemetery or the Dearborn County Hospice.
