James (Jim) Holman,
48, of Holton
passed away at 11:30am Monday,
April 6, 2015 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was born
at Greensburg
on October 1, 1966 the son of Leon and Mossie Newman Holman. He
was married to
Paula Craig on November 14, 1998 and she survives. Other
survivors include his
mother Mossie Fultz of Versailles; four sons James P. Holman of
Versailles,
William (Alisha) Holman of Madison, Dewey E. Holman of Hanover,
and Jerrod
Holman of Holton; two daughters Carol Jo (Terry) Malone of
Holton, and Kayla
Holman of Madison and her fiancé Dustin Hogston; one brother
Dewey L. Holman of
Madison; three sisters Kathy (Jeff) Burton of North Vernon,
Christy Fox of
Dallas, Texas, and Lisa (David) Slimco of Columbus. He was
preceded in death by
his father, and his step-father Phil Fultz. Mr. Holman was
employed at the
Versailles State Park and had also been a concrete contractor
with his father.
He was also a former employee of Lowe's in North Vernon and the
Napoleon
Locker. Jim's past time was his family, but he loved dirt track
racing. He
raced his number 7 car at Seymour, Lawrenceburg, Brownstown, and
Vernon, just
to mention a few of the tracks where he was so well known. Jim
was not just
known as a driver at these tracks, but as one who built cars and
helped other
drivers as well. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April
10 at 11am at the Dabney Baptist Church with Bro. Butch Woodell
officiating. Burial
will be in the Otter Creek Cemetery at Nebraska. Visitation will
be Thursday
from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in
Versailles and from
10am until time of services Friday at the church. Memorials may
be given to the
donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
