James D. McCain, 37, of Versailles passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at his home. He was born at Hamilton, Ohio on July 25, 1972 the son of Thomas and Linda Kain McCain.
Survivors include his parents Thomas and Linda McCain of Versailles; three brothers Thomas (Angel) McCain of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Michael McCain and William (Carol) McCain both of Versailles; three sisters Kathleen Stouffer and Deborah (Ray) Isaacs both of Batesville, and Jennifer (Tracy) Boggs of Brookville; 18 nieces and nephews; special friends and nurses Laurie Hyde of Versailles and Deborah Poer of North Vernon; aunts and uncles Kathleen Ward of Fairfield, Ohio, Sue and David Day of Lakeside, Florida, Teresa and Michael Housh and John and Debbie McCain all of Middletown, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his brother Daniel, maternal grandparents Richard and Imogene Waddell Kain, and paternal grandparents Thomas and Hazel Post McCain.
Mr. McCain was a 1991 graduate of Fairfield, Ohio High School and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December at 10am at St. Johns with Father Shawn Whittington officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary services at 7:30pm. Memorials may be given to the ALS Foundation or St. John's Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
