James H. Wright, 74, of Canaan passed away at 8pm Saturday, September 19, 2015 at his home. He was born at Ft. Thomas, Kentucky on April 3, 1941 and was married to Patricia Stoppiello on June 10, 1972 and she survives.
Other survivors include one son Bryan Wright of Cross Plains; four daughters Cynthia (Mark) Roe of Sunman, Kelley (Thomas) Mess of West Harrison, Cheryl (Kenny) Mathews of Cross Plains, and Teri Wright of Oxford, Ohio; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Mr. Wright was a truck driver and had also worked at the GM plant in Norwood, Ohio until its closure in 1987. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming at his Switzerland County home and was particularly fond of his dogs.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Chris Kessen of the First Baptist/Restoration Church of Miamitown, Ohio officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Ripley County Humane Society in care of the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the New Marion Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
