Janice F. Smith

Janice F. Smith, 70, of Cross Plains passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born at Lumberton, North Carolina on January 30, 1937 the daughter of John and Eunice Hayes Edwards. She was married to Robert Smith on July 24, 1954 and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1983. Survivors include one son David Smith of North Vernon; one daughter Gloria Konkle and her husband Ron of Rexville; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; one brother Bobby Edwards and his wife Naomi of Booneville, North Carolina. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Gwen, her parents, and one grandson. Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Dewberry. She was retired from Thompsons at North Vernon where she worked as a machinist. Funeral services will be held Friday, December at 10:30am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dewberry with Pastor Ralph Campen officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Garden at Madison. Visitation will be Thursday from 5pm to 8pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 9:30am until time of services Friday at the church. Memorials may be given to the donors choice in care of the funeral home.
