John Gilbert Hunter

John Gilbert Hunter, 87, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away December 5, 2003 in Phoenix. He was born in Versailles on December 10, 1916 the son of Tony and Eva Mae Stewart Hunter. He was married to Catherine Louise Hunter in 1941 and she preceded him in death on February 4, 1996. Survivors include one son, Thomas E. Hunter of Phoenix, one daughter Janet Anne Hunter of Cincinnati. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his sister Virginia Rosbach. Mr. Hunter was a 1934 graduate of Versailles High School and a 1938 graduate of Indiana University. He was an Army veteran of WWII and had taught physics and general science in northern Illinois for several years. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 14 at 1pm at the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Local arrangements were handled by the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home of Versailles.
