John E. Lohrum, 76, of Versailles
passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at
the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born near Elrod on January 16,
1932 the son of Albert and Eunice Elrod Lohrum. He was married to Frances M.
Hankins on June 22, 1951 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons,
Johnnie (Helen) Lohrum and Ronnie (Linda) Lohrum both of Osgood; two daughters,
Nina Mae (Ron) McGill of Montgomery, Indiana and Rebecca (Doug) Hisel of
Lexington, Kentucky; two brothers, Vic Lohrum and Carroll (Judy) Lohrum both of
Elrod; two sisters, Linda (Merrill) Bruce of Versailles and Alice (Donny)
Mathias of Dillsboro; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents and his brother Albert (Red) Lohrum. Mr. Lohrum
was a 1950 graduate of Versailles High School. He was a 36 year employee of
Texas Gas where he worked as an A operator and also a clerk. He was a member of
the Versailles First Southern Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at
11am Saturday, February 23
at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home
in Versailles with Rev. Carter Corbey officiating. Burial will be in the
Grandview Memorial Garden near Madison. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to
8pm. Memorials may be given to the food pantry of the Hopewell Baptist Church in
care of the funeral home.
