John H. White

John H. White, Jr., 65, of Holton passed away Thursday, September 09, 2004 at his home. He was born at Rising Sun on November 17, 1938 the son of John H. and Gertrude Ellis White. He was married to Carolyn Johnson on July 18, 1959 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Dwayne White, Franklin White and his wife Pamela all of Holton; one daughter Tammie Stewart of Noblesville; granddaughters Amanda Fronek, Heather Green, Erika Wright, and Hilary White; great-grandsons Andrew Roembke and Aidan Green; three brothers, Howard "Butch" White and his wife Darlene of Rising Sun, Clarence White and Vonda of Lawrenceburg, and Charlie White and Veeta of Rising Sun; three sisters, Velma Vest of Aurora, Esther Miller and her husband Harry of Rising Sun, Henrietta Lay and Stanley of Holton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son John H. "Bub" White III, brothers James and George Robert White and his sister Anna Elizabeth White. Mr. White was a 1957 graduate of Patriot High School and was a Navy veteran. He retired from Cummins Engine in Columbus in 1996 after 30 years of service. He was also a member of the DWI at Cummins. Funeral services will be Monday, September 13 at 10:30am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. David Shivers of the Hopewell Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the New Cemetery at Rising Sun. Visitation will be Sunday, September 12 from 3pm to 7pm. Memorials may be given to the Hospice of Margaret Mary Hospital in care of the funeral home.
