Johnny H. Sizemore, 74, of Holton
passed away at 11:20pm, Friday, July 24, 2020 at his home. He was born at the
Whitlatch Clinic in Milan on October 22, 1945 the son of John and Erma Sparks
Sizemore. He was married to Rita Siebein on June 19, 1965 and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters Candy Sizemore and her husband James Rork
of Versailles and Penny Jo Sizemore and her companion Shane Melton of Holton;
six grandchildren; one brother Tony (Cathy) Sizemore of St Cloud, Florida; one
sister Charlotte Sizemore Davis also of St. Cloud; 5 nieces, 4 nephews, and
numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by his parents, his brother Glenn Sizemore, and his brother-in-law Randy
Davis. Mr. Sizemore was a 1963 graduate of Holton High School. He was a 13 year
employee of US Shoe in Osgood and then was employed with Skelgas in Osgood.
He was also the service manager for Paul Walston Chevrolet in Versailles and
worked with his brother and father at Sizemore's Service Center in Holton. Johnny
was a driver for Florida Coach for 35 years, driving over 4 million miles touring
the continental United States and Canada. He drove for such celebrities as Willie
Nelson, Tom Petty, and the Oakridge Boys, just to name a few. Later in life,
Johnny still drove a bus, but of a different variety, taking nursing home residents
to the doctor and to community outings. His hobbies included anything to do
with his grandchildren including everything from attending their school and
sports functions to hauling them in his gator. Johnny was a member of the New
Marion Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 29th
at 10:30am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will
be in the New Marion Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5pm to 7pm.
Memorials may be given to the New Marion Cemetery or the Holton Cemetery in
care of the funeral home.
