Judy C. Groves

Judy C. Groves, 71, of Dabney passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Arbor Village in Greensburg. She was born at Carr Creek in Knott County, Kentucky on June 17, 1940 the daughter of William and Ethel Young Collins. She was married to Henry Groves on July 22, 1961 and he survives. Other survivors include two sons Eric Groves of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Jeff (Laura) Groves of Dillsboro; grandchildren Sierra, Dylan, Zachary, and Sean Groves; one sister Deborah (Glenn) Dieckmann of Crawfordsville; three brothers Palmer (Wanda) Collins of Lookout, Ray (Janice) Collins of Batesville, and Darol (Toni) Collins of Greensburg; brother-in-law Lester Gutapfel of Sunman. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Sue Gutapfel. Mrs. Groves was a 1958 graduate of Napoleon High School, was a former employee of Hill-Rom in Batesville, and was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 11 at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Paul Wenning officiating. Burial will be in the Adams Lutheran Church Cemetery near Batesville. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home.
