Karen Kay Barrett, 62, of Butlerville
passed away Tuesday, February 24,
2009 at the Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. She was born at
Noblesville on June 10, 1946 the daughter of Duard and Gertrude Roberts Litton.
She was married to Delano Barrett on May 8, 1968 and he preceded her in death on
September 17, 2001. Survivors include three sons, Rodney (Sharon) Hubbard and
Rick (Marcia) Hubbard both of North Vernon, and Tom (Summer) Barrett of Hope;
two daughters Sonja (Gary) Bryant of Columbus and Shellee Mandabach and her
companion Tracy Price of Morgantown; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandson;
three brothers, Gayle Litton of Martinsville, Jack Mote of Versailles, and Butch
Allee of Nebraska; 10 sisters, Pat Clark of Ohio, Betty Wright of Indianapolis,
Ruth Large and Roberta Meeker both of North Vernon, Juanita Hoyt of Columbus,
Cindy Vanosdol and Alice Beach both of Holton, Bessie Mullins of Bloomington,
Susie McDougal of Martinsville, and Martha Osborne of Texas. She was preceded in
death by her parents, her brother Duard, and her sisters Drucilla Garries, Ilona
Hendricks, and Dorothy Litton. Mrs. Barrett was a member of the Holton United
Methodist Church. She was a 33 year employee of Regal Rugs in North Vernon and a
Child Advocate for the Jennings County Courts. Funeral services will be held
Saturday, February 28
at 10:30am at the Holton United Methodist
Church with Dennis Hadler officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial
Garden near Madison. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm to 8pm at the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 9:30am until time of
services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be given to Hospice or the Holton
United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
